Ming Li received the Master degree in structural mechanics from the China Ship Scientific Research Center, and Ph.D. degree in computer science from the City University of Hong Kong, respectively. In 2004, he joined East China Normal University as a professor after several years’ experiences as a research fellow in the National University of SingaporeHis areas relate to 1) computer science, currently with the emphasis on teletraffic modeling, anomaly detection in network security, network calculus, statistics in computer communication networks, 2) applied statistics and signal processing, with the recent interests in  fractal time series and its applications, ocean waves,  3) measurement and control, currently focusing on error analysis, measurement fundamentals, optimal control of measurement systems, 4) experimental mechanics, mainly in fatigue, vibrationHe is listed, by the Marquis Who's Who, in Who's Who in Science and Engineering, 9th Edition ·2006-2007, the First Edition of Who's Who in Asia-2007, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, 10th Anniversary Edition, 2008-2009, Who's Who in the World - 2008, 25th Silver Anniversary Edition, Who's Who in the World - 2009, 26th Edition. In addition, he is listed, by The International Biography Centre of Cambridge, England (IBC), 2000 Outstanding Scientists 2008/2009,  IBC FOREMOST SCIENTISTS OF the WORLD - 2008-, and Top 100 Scientists - 2009, respectively. He has the award of International Scientist of the Year for 2008, and the award of LEADING SCIENTISTS of the WORLD 2008, the 21st Centure Award for Achievement, by IBC, respectively.
